Sushi Express, located in San Antonio's Stone Oak, uniquely blends Japanese and Korean cuisine. Customers rave about the exceptional sushi, noting its freshness and meticulous presentation. David Beere, a satisfied diner, highlighted the tender fish and perfectly textured rice, mentioning that the restaurant manages to deliver this quality even during busy hours. The swift and friendly service enhances the dining experience, making it a favorite among locals. Equally impressive are the Korean dishes on the menu. Phil and Emmy share their enthusiasm for the spicy pork bulgogi and the pork pocket, both characterized by rich, layered flavors. Emmy particularly enjoyed the experience of trying soju, which added an extra dimension to her meal. Diners like Kim Cruz emphasize the superb bibimbap, claiming it's the best they've had. The variety of sides, including the eel sauce and miso soup, complements the main dishes expertly. The ambiance of Sushi Express, combined with its efficient service and delightful menu, ensures it remains a go-to destination for Japanese and Korean cuisine lovers. Whether you're craving sushi or a hearty Korean meal, Sushi Express promises a fulfilling culinary adventure that keeps bringing diners back.

The restaurant serves Korean foods too which we ordered. The dishes were hot and spicy to our palate. Service was attentive and friendly. You will enjoy the Korean entrees along with the small dishes of 'nah-mu' which are similar to condiments to eat with the meal.

I recently dined at Sushi Express, and I must say it was a delightful experience. Despite being a bustling neighborhood sushi restaurant, the service was impressively fast and efficient. From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me warmly and promptly seated me. The menu offered an extensive selection of sushi and other Japanese delicacies, and I was amazed at the quality of the food. The sushi at Sushi Express was truly exceptional. Each piece was meticulously crafted with fresh ingredients, resulting in a burst of flavors with every bite. The fish was remarkably tender and the rice had the perfect texture. The restaurant's attention to detail in presentation was evident, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. What stood out the most was the speed of service. Despite the restaurant's popularity, the staff worked seamlessly to ensure every customer was promptly served. I was amazed at how quickly my orders were taken and how efficiently they were delivered to my table. This level of service efficiency is commendable and truly sets Sushi Express apart from other sushi establishments.

Jan. 2023: Yesterday, we decided to stay close to home and had dinner at Sushi Express. My husband and I used visit pre-pandemic more frequently. Since then, we have ordered and usually bring the food home. With my Yelp check-in, I got a free miso soup for Dad to enjoy. We all had the pork pocket/gua bao and Dad loved it. Blue was our server and was great about bringing refills of the ban chan (small dishes like kimchi, bean sprouts and others). I realized I missed having the refills! We all shared the Hamachi Kama (yellowtail collar), Japchae, Haemul Pajeon (pancake with scallion and various seafood) and Galbi Tang. The bonus was my Hite beer! I do love Korean food and thankful Sushi Express is a short drive away. If you're in Stone Oak, check them out. They also have Sushi and other Japanese food. We almost forgot to take Dad's photo. As you can see, some food have already been eaten! 2018: I love this place for their mix of Japanese and Korean menu. My usual order is their Hamachi don which comes with miso soup. Great that it's close to home.

My obssesed K-pop culture lover friend recommended this place, and she was so right about everything... Thank you, Suzy. I loved it!!! It was busy but it was fast and great service ( 5 stars) and delicious!!!! I will definitely recommend the spicy pork bulgogi...also the pork pocket was soft, sweet, and savory at the same time... I tried soju, actually help cleaning my palate after each sip... I ordered without knowing that it was a medium bottle, I really liked it!!! order it if there's more than 1 person... you have to try it to complete the whole experience.... I loved it. I loved it. I loved it

One of our favorite restaurants in San Antonio. The bibimbap in a stone bowl is the best we've had (even compared to our favorite Korean restaurant in the Bay area). The sushi is ok but the Korean food is amazing. Wish they would rename the restaurant! The kids meals don't look appetizing but our girls always finish their meals, and that doesn't happen often. For two entrees, an appetizer, and two kids meals we paid 60 (no drinks ordered). The service is wonderful and we will continue to return.

We came in here on a quiet day and the service was good. We tried the soft shell crab appetizer: delicious but small. We had 3 rolls: the baked salmon roll (fav), the Stone Oak (ok), and the california roll (great). We also tried the stone bowl (korean menu)... it was good but the amount of meat was very little, but all the korean sides it came with were fun to try out. Overall good spot and we will be back

Important note, this is a Korean and Japanese restaurant, not just a Sushi restaurant. The name can be misleading or make some think they only serve sushi. Came for dinner on a Saturday evening and it was not crowded, so was immediately seated. Olivia immediately came over for drink and appetizer orders. She did a great job throughout the evening. For the appetizer, ordered the Tornado Potato, Tempura Sampler. Mussels, and Yellow Tail sushi. Food was brought out as they were ready, so ranged between 5 and minutes for all. Everything was good, but my favorite was the simplest dish of the Tornado Potato. Had a nice crisp and went with the salt only flavoring. Sushi was a nice cut of fresh yellow tail. The Tempura Sampler had a few undercooked items that left the vegetables a little hard. The mussels were good, but the toppings overpowered the mussels flavor. For the meal, ordered the Galbi-Tang and Spicy Squid. Both of these dishes were very good. I slightly preferred the soup, but both were good. Galbi-Tang contained large chunks of short ribs and the broth was perfect. The Spicy Squid had good sized pieces of squid in a spicy base mixed with other vegetables. For dessert, finished with the banana tempura which was bananas fried in tempura batter drizzled with a fruit puree and chocolate sauce served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It wasn't too heavy or too sweet. Overall, good Korean food with some Japanese dishes and good service.

Consistently tasty and beautifully prepared dishes and probably the best Sunday lunch special in town. Service has never been an issue here for me. I’m not a kimchi expert but I really enjoyed their’s especially their bean sprouts. Fried dumplings are excellent. Definitely worth a try really good food at a pleasantly surprising price
